Now let's talk paint. Florida Paint Centers in Marco Island and Naples, FL. is proud to carry two of the largest paint lines in the world, Benjamin Moore and PPG/Porter Paints. These paint companies have been around for over 110 + years so you know they are on the cutting edge of research & development. The last time you painted a very dark color, did you have a hard time covering the old color? Well that's because the dark colors don't have titanium dioxide or Ti02® in them. What the heck is titanium dioxide? Titanium dioxide is the most widely used white pigment because of its brightness. The more titanium dioxide the better the coverage. That's why whites and medium tone colors always cover better, because they have more titanium dioxide, but when you need a dark color, in order to get the paint to go dark, they have to leave the titanium out so there is room for the other pigments. But Benjamin Moore has come up with a solution; it's called Gennex®. Gennex® pigments have hit the paint world with a storm. The Gennex® Platform has made painting so much easier. Why? Because the Gennex® pigments now allow us to make dark colors that will cover just like the light colors. In other words if you are painting a room in your house and you want to use a cranberry color over a white color, you could be looking at 4 coats of quality paint! with Gennex® and Benjamin Moore you can have a perfect job with 1 or 2 coats. Let's talk about something else that us Floridians have to deal with. MOLD.Yuck! it seems like we can't get rid of it, until now. Portersept® is made by PPG/Porter Paint Co. and it comes with a (7) seven year mildew warranty. That's right, you heard correctly 7 years.To my knowledge it is the only paint product that comes with that kind of warranty.
